Standing Rock Pipe Line

Standing Rock Pipeline

Thousands of protesters are in North Dakota at Standing Rock to decry an oil pipeline that will go through ND, Iowa and Illinois carrying half a million tons of crude oil every day. If there is any leak, the oil will contaminate the whole Mississippi River. "This pipeline threatens the lives of the more than 17 million people who rely on the Missouri River for their water."

Let's not forget recent history... Here's this trailer of DeepWater Horizon (Now in theaters. I saw it and it was devastatingly powerful), where the BP were trying to save $$, and it ended up being the worst oil spill in US history.

I've had enough.

Hello Dear Friend and fellow resistance fighter!

I continue to have resistance to my own personal development and I've had ENOUGH!
It's a moments like these where we need to make the conscious choice to STOP.
Great!...now how?

By creating the physical act of sitting down, dancing around and starting to work, it gives opportunity to produce infallible yet mysterious sequences of inspiration moving through us. If I build the container, the creativity will move through me. If the container isn't there, then the muse within me will not come. And yes, it's hard to get there. Why? Because resistance is in the way!

So how do we move past the resistance?!

Here are some tips that have helped me:
1. Own it! Acknowledge the resistance and separate it from the truth that's behind that wall.
2. Stop Lying! Whenever you have fear or project something in the future that blocks you from what you want, Call yourself out on the LIE! "That is NOT TRUE!"
3. Evening Gratitudes! Write what you're Grateful for every evening. This helps resistance because it creates perspective larger than self. When in a state of gratitude, the impossible is possible.
4. Manifesting Mornings! What are you creating every morning? Set the tone for the day. Write down 3 things you're manifesting that day, the week or month. Begin to call it in and have it in your mind as a tool to guide your essence.
5. Ground and Center. Notice those moments when you're feeling stressed, anxious, off your center and then BREATHE! Hold your belly and take a few deep breaths that bring you back to your commitments to self-love and your body.

...So whenever your resistance comes up, you have these 5 tools to bring you back to YOU.

How to get what you want.

"The only way to get what you really want is to know what you really want.
The only way to know what you really want is to know yourself.
The only way to know yourself is to be yourself.
And the only way to be yourself,  is to listen to your heart. " - The Universe

I've learned to listen to my heart in the moments when I'm still.
When my body is relaxed, I let the voice under the surface rise.
That is the voice I choose to move with in this dance we call life.

#ListenToHer

Amidst one of the more sacred spaces I've experienced in my life, she came to me.

Dear Men,

You cannot have me. I am not yours yet I’m available with an open heart. I will speak to your spirit and possible knock you over with love from great gaia and it is your respsonbility to lift yourself back up.

I am not your soul mate, yet a dear mate to your soul that will confuse your mind because your body has begun to sing.

This thing between you and me is not meant to be aside from the truth of being in this moment. Don’t linger it and bring us to a place beyond this place where you cast me in all of your dreams.

I am not here to break you, except to open you up for the love thats available in you, breaking to come through.

I am the butterfly that floats by on that day when you said yes to the magic. Be with the beauty rather than take us out of it and place us in a nowhere land of no existence. The magic will leave in an instance. Trace back the confusion off your face that this needs to continue and you have found the butterfly you’ve been looking for. Never letting me go and placing me in a jar.

I appreciate your generous offer kind one, but this is the moment i leave you, for these wings take flight for the META view. For you cannot have me, yet I am available for all the possibilities.

Growing Pains

I landed. And the transition hasn’t been easy.

This month, after years of touring, exploring, and being a gracious guest in the homes of countless friends and mentors, I officially moved to the west coast into a home in Venice Beach. I finally turned the online course I had been dreaming about into a real thing. You’d think landing would be grounding!
If anything, it’s the opposite.

I feel like I'm heating up, in a pot of stirring questions: why here? Why this place? What's the next right thing? Which direction to grow? The mundane tasks that come with life’s choices have taken over my days in a way that they never really have. How should my home look and feel? Which kitchen towels to pick? What to upload, download, read, write, email, send and receive? I'm confronted with new responsibilities every single day that remind me of the work that I need to do. That “grow up” voice tells me to focus, to plan, to execute the "to do list of 2016" with precision and intention... and the kid in me yells back and wants to run to my new backyard to practice handstands, or book a flight to the next gig. First things first - stick to the plan. Honor my practice. Buy a shower curtain. Meditate.

There's the other side of this…

I am learning so much. I am being pushed in every aspect of my life to know myself from all angles, different shapes and sizes. I am being challenged to explore all of my personalities so I can be prepared for anything. I'm learning that this world will never rule my day because I am fully ruled by the Universe. With this new home and online course (which is incredible), every day is packed with a mission. And in that, every moment requires me to be fully ready for a new approach. There is no story that will serve or support these choices except the one in which I am made to deal, responsibly and responsively, in the spark of the present moment.

Pieces need to be put together before I can say “I’ve landed” for good. And no one is going to put those together except for me. That’s the motivation of all of it. To me, it’s the FIRE! And it burns away the part of me that fears, that hesitates, that doubts, that pushes back against what I know is right. In nature, fire burns to benefit the soil, to maintain proper plant growth. Nothing can truly root and have new life without being burned first. Fires revitalizes and replenishment the earth. Without it, plants would be unable to survive. So as I see it…I'm in the fire right now– a fire of my own creation. It's connecting me back to who I am being so I can clearly grow exactly what I want. And take root.

Ah...This is what growing pains feel like!

"IT" is Always There

October was wild,

I've been on the road for weeks trekking between NY and LA, mapping out the year to come and meeting powerful leaders at Esalen Institute,Burning Man, and... Delta Airlines. It was all incredible, but it wasn't all easy.

I hit some walls. I questioned my direction. I've been struggling with my practice, trying to go deeper and asking questions like, what's blocking my willingness to surrender myself to my surroundings and just BE ?  where is fear showing up from deep within my heart, and where is it taking me? (Fear of being stranded, of not having a home). Who can I trust?

I'd been researching vision quests, and was lucky enough to have my Big Sur native friend Kodiak guide me to a secluded place in the hills where I was to meditate for 3 days & nights sitting in a 12 foot circle with nothing but water, a tent and yoga mat.

It felt like a right of passage. An initiation that I can’t express. I did my time, and it was profound and challenging. A powerful experience that has me noticing in new ways.

Out in Big Sur those 3 days... There was nothing to distract me from looking honestly at myself.

I pried my heart open.

I felt around in the cracks, in the dark parts of my identity where I linger on false appearances and interferences that distract me from the quiet insistence of a feeling deep within my gut. That yearning to be forever in love and in respect for the planet because I landed on it for a reason and it's on me to figure out what that is. Beneath all that, fear.

We all have the opportunity and community to turn around and wake up what is felt by the unseen eye. We can all peer over that edge, alone and hungry in the middle of the woods or riding home on a crowded subway.

Whatever is lurking deep within you, deep within the cracks of your subconscious – when you find it, you can use as fuel. You can ignite it with your intention and let it it burn away the frayed edges within you, cleanse your soul with the element of fire. Like a tool, you can use it to learn, to create, to reap, to renew.

As the days get shorter and the night gets dark, you can practice calling upon this energy when you need warmth, and a light.

 It's always there.

Tips for you to get to you.

10 Tips to give yourself love & clean your energy:

1. Before you get out of bed, put your hands on your heart. Say, "Hello, thank you. I love you."
2. Drink a glass of water.
3. Turn your phone on airplane mode for 30 minutes and read.
4. Next time you go outside, take 3 breaths while looking at the sky.
5. Brush the outside of your body from your head to feet with your hands. Wiping off any emotions and unnecessary energy.
6. Before you make decisions this week, PAUSE. Take a breath, drop into your gut and LISTEN for the answer.
7. Light a candle and incense. Watch the flame for 1 minute.
8. Write 3 powerful sentences to yourself. "I am healthy, strong, and present."
9. Allow yourself to rest. It's okay to feel tired. (A lot of us have been working hard.)
10. At the end of your day, close your eyes with your hands on your heart. "Hello, you are safe, you are free, thank you so much...I love you."

5 Fun ways to get to know yourself: Write, Dance, Sing, Create, Sit.

1. Get a journal or grab a pen and paper and start writing with this promo…” Who I really am is…"
With no judgement, see what comes out. WRITE Let the pen flow and allow this to be a free write of creativity. When you are in the creative process, there is no space for corrections, that is not part of this first phase the same way you have to eat the food before you can even consider digesting it. So eat.

2. Put on some music. What do you look like dancing as you? No judgement on yourself.  DANCE. Just simply have fun. Laugh at yourself, better yet, laugh with yourself and allow yourself to feel uncomfortable until you find yourself getting down to the groove.
Here are some music artist recommendations:
Tracy Chapman, Purity Ring, Random Rab, The Human Experience, Banks, Dream Koala, & Ayla Nereo.

3. Learn the lyrics or make up your own...SING.

4. Pick out a photo of yourself that you love. Maybe recent or when you were a child. Cut out your face and get a big piece of card board and place is smack in the center. Get 2-4 magazines that range in demographic. Ex: Cosmo, National Geographic, TimeOUT, Yogajournal.
Grab those sizzors and glue stick and begin to cut and paste what resonates with you. What is it that you’re creating? Put on some good tunes. CREATE. Let yourself do this for an hour and witness the magic that can happen! (Take a photo and share your vision board here!)

5. SIT in silence. If you don’t want to meditate, you don’t have too, but what do you feel like when you’re in the company of yourself. Do you feel safe? Is there a lot of noise? What are the thoughts and who is the voice that keeps talking if any? Notice… Record the chatter if you’d like. Close your eyes. Say to yourself. “Hello, I’m sorry, please forgive me, thank you, I love you.” over and over… See if there’s an emotion that comes up. If so, allow the emotion to be acknowledged inviting you to take the next initiation into getting closer to your truth and feeling into who you truly are.

Let me know if this helps you! <3

Be a REBEL

Be a Rebel. Not because you are fighting against something, but because you’re discovering yourtrue nature, determined to live it. As a Rebel, I have been living courageously each step not knowing where I’m going to land. Foolish? Yes. Is that bad? No. To live moment to moment with intuition by my side is the most rebellious thing I can think of because it’s not something typically taught. I carry my purity, trust and courage into this chapter of my life. Blowing in the wind and being courageous enough to take responsibility for who I am - living my truth. To analyze this with the rational mind is to project doubt and fear; “false evidence appearing real”… and that’s a whole other story...
